The rules are intentionally simple

See the falls. Earn the story.

There is no required route and no need to complete everything. A two-waterfall afternoon counts. A full waterfall weekend counts more. Pick the adventure that fits your stay, use the official links to check conditions before you leave, then tap I did it when the waterfall is in the books.

20+ · Waterfall ExplorerYou got off the deck and found the water.
40+ · Falls HunterA legitimate Middle Tennessee waterfall run.
70+ · Waterfall WarriorYou planned the trip around falling water.
100 · Waterfall LegendEvery challenge stop. Certificate bragging rights.

Closest to the cabin · Reservation required

Carmac Falls at Evins Mill

~10 minutes from The Little Lake House · Smithville

Start local. Carmac Falls is a 90-foot cascade on the private grounds of Evins Mill. Their reservation-only Day-Tripper package provides access to the property and waterfall trails. This one feels less like a roadside stop and more like somebody let you into a private Tennessee gorge for the day.

Tony’s challengeGet one photo where the waterfall, not you, is clearly the star.

Big payoff · Almost no effort

Great Falls at Rock Island

~25 minutes from The Little Lake House · Rock Island

Great Falls is the efficient win: a dramatic 30-foot waterfall on the Caney Fork with an overlook that does not require a serious hike. Pair it with Twin Falls and you can bank two challenge stops in one park.

Same park · Completely different falls

Twin Falls at Rock Island

~25 minutes from The Little Lake House · Rock Island

Twin Falls pours from the gorge wall below the powerhouse and is one of the area's most memorable waterfall scenes. Treat it as a viewing stop, not a swimming challenge: Tennessee State Parks prohibits swimming at Twin Falls, and dam releases can make gorge conditions dangerous.

Tony’s challengeFind a safe viewpoint where you can capture more than one stream of the falls in the same frame.

The classic · Multiple waterfalls

Burgess Falls State Park

~30 minutes from The Little Lake House · Sparta area

Burgess Falls is not one waterfall stop pretending to be a park. The Falling Water River drops through a sequence of four waterfalls and more than 250 feet of elevation. It is the challenge stop for guests who want the walk itself to be part of the reward.

Tony’s challengePhotograph at least two different falls in the sequence, not just the headline view.

Low effort · Weird geology

Lost Creek Falls

~35 minutes from The Little Lake House · Sparta

Lost Creek is the oddball in the best possible way: a waterfall beside a large cave opening in a karst landscape. The Little Lake House's existing guide rates it as one of the easiest high-payoff waterfall stops in the area.

Tony’s challengeGet the waterfall and cave opening in the same photograph without leaving the established visitor area.

Grand finale · Worth the drive

Fall Creek Falls

Cumberland Plateau · Make this the big outing

Finish big. Fall Creek Falls State Park's namesake waterfall drops 256 feet and can be viewed from an accessible overlook, so the tallest spectacle in the challenge does not require the hardest hike. The park has far more to explore if you want to turn it into a full day.

Tony’s challengeTake one wide photograph that shows the entire 256-foot drop and enough gorge to show its scale.
