Load gear, remove tie-downs and install drain plug away from the ramp. Use the ramp lane only when the boat is ready.
Fuel before the rush
Confirm marina fuel hours and start with a conservative range plan. A beautiful reservoir is not the place to test the last gallon.

Wind, lightning, lake level and visibility outrank the itinerary. Have a shore-day alternative ready.
